About The ETS President Scholarship for HBCU students
In recognition of ETS’s long-standing partnership with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), the ETS Presidential Scholarship provides financial assistance to rising juniors and seniors at HBCUs who have established a record of outstanding academic performance in college, both overall and in their major field, and who demonstrate an interest in leadership in their chosen field.
They must be recommended by their college or university’s president for their outstanding academic performance.
A full-tuition scholarship is awarded to four students studying at private HBCUs and four students studying at public HBCUs for one academic year.

ETS President Scholarship Overview
ETS, in collaboration with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), is pleased to provide financial assistance to outstanding students enrolled in a private or publicly supported Historically Black College and University (HBCU). For the 2022-2023 academic school year, eight scholars (four from a private HBCU and four from a public HBCU) will be chosen to receive a full tuition-only need/merit scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria-Who is Eligible
ETS president scholarship for HBCU students is looking for exceptional students who can demonstrate their accomplishments in both the classroom and extracurricular activities. The scholarship is intended to recognize students who have challenged themselves academically and who have a strong desire to learn.
Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, as well as academic excellence and/or creativity in some field of study. Experience or accomplishments in research are two examples.
Applicants will be evaluated and chosen based on their academic record and grade point average, college activities and demonstrated leadership in their academic field, application form responses, letters of recommendation, and financial needs. Students must be classified according to their college.
Interested Applicant must be:
- Enroll full-time as a junior or senior in a public or private HBCU during the 2021-2022 academic school year.
- A current grade point average of 3.5 or higher is required.
- Capable of demonstrating leadership qualities
- Capable of demonstrating financial need
- You must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport bearing the I-551 stamp.
