The University of Calgary International Entrance Scholarship is a prestigious award that recognizes the outstanding achievements of international student who begins their undergraduate studies at the University in the Fall term. The Scholarship criteria include not only academic excellence but also achievements outside of the classroom.
- Offered annually to undergraduate international students entering their first year of any undergraduate degree in the upcoming fall term who have met the university’s English Language Proficiency requirement. Renewable in the second, third, and fourth years of study at the University of Calgary if recipients achieve a GPA of 2.60 or higher over a minimum of 24.00 units in the previous fall and winter terms and continue to pay an international differential tuition fee as an international student.
- International students who are not Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents of Canada and are required to pay a differential fee

Eligibility Criteria for International Scholarships at the University of Calgary

- Must have graduated from a Chinese high school, including Hong Kong and Macau.
- Preference will be given to a student pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Health Sciences, or Bachelor of Arts – Urban Studies degree.
How to Apply for International Scholarships at the University of Calgary
To apply for this scholarship, please follow the steps outlined below:
(1) Apply to your university’s undergraduate program:
- You may now begin your application. Create a UCalgary eID first.
- Use the application guide to assist you in completing your application.
- Submit your application and pay the application fee of $145.
- We’ll notify you in your Calgary Student Center about how and where to submit any required documents based on your application. More information can be found on the documents page.
(2) To apply for the International Scholarships at the University of Calgary, Follow the next steps below:
- Navigate to your Student Center via the myUofC portal.
- Click on the “My Financials” page in your Student Center.
- Scroll down to Awards & Scholarships and click on “Apply for Undergraduate Awards.” Please make sure that popups are enabled. The page will not load if popups are disabled.
- A pop-up window will appear on your screen, displaying any open or recently closed applications.
- Please keep the Application Available and Application Deadline dates in mind.
