Tsinghua University Schwarzman Scholarships Program Brief description
Schwarzman Scholars is the first scholarship created to respond to the geopolitical landscape of the twenty-first century. It is designed to prepare the next generation of global leaders.
The program will provide the world’s best and brightest students with the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and professional networks through a one-year Master’s Degree at Tsinghua University in Beijing, one of China’s most prestigious universities.

Master’s Degree and Leadership Program in Global Affairs with concentrations in one of the following areas: Public Policy, Economics and Business, and International Studies.
Tsinghua University Schwarzman Scholarships Program Number Of Awards

Up to 200 students will be admitted, with approximately 45% of the first class coming from the United States, 20% from China, and 35% from the rest of the world.

The Tsinghua University Schwarzman Scholars Program will receive a comprehensive scholarship that includes tuition and fees, room and board, travel to and from Beijing at the start and end of the academic year, an in-country study tour, and required course books and supplies, health insurance, and a personal stipend.
Eligibility Criteria
The interested applicant for the Tsinghua University Schwarzman Scholarships Program must meet the following requirements:
- Undergraduate or first-year degree from a college or university, or its equivalent.
- Applicants who are currently enrolled in undergraduate degree programs must be on track to complete all degree requirements by the start of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year on August 1.
- There are no prerequisites for a specific field of undergraduate study; all fields are welcome; however,
- applicants, regardless of undergraduate major, must articulate how participation in Schwarzman Scholars will help develop their leadership potential within their field.
Minimum Age Requirement: Tsinghua University Schwarzman Scholarships Program
Candidates must be at least 18 years old but no older than 29 years old on August 1 of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year.
Language proficiency in English:
Because all instruction will be given in English, applicants must be fluent in the language. If English is not the applicant’s first language, official English proficiency test scores must be submitted with the application. The following are acceptable test options:
- English as a Foreign Language Test (TOEFL PBT). The minimum score is 600.
- Internet-based English as a Foreign Language Test (TOEFL iBT). The minimum score is 100.
- The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (IELTS). 7. Minimum score
This requirement is waived for applicants who graduated from an undergraduate institution where English was the primary language of instruction for at least two years.
Applicants who have studied in English for two years or more at the Master’s degree level or higher will also be exempt from the requirement.

How To Apply for Tsinghua University Schwarzman Scholarships Program
To apply, you must fill out an online application form and submit the necessary documents by the deadline. Applicants from the United States and other countries must apply by September 20, 2022.
Applicants with Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Macao passports can apply until May 20.
