The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) in August 2021 canceled the use of JAMB’s general cut-off marks in all higher education institutions in Nigeria. This means that each school will have to choose its own cut-off marks for admission.

However, the change was made due to the massive failure in the 2021/2022 JAMB UTME Exam. Meanwhile, this year’s jamb is different with the introduction of NIN, No postponement of exam dates, no use of email, and a whole lot of other changes.

Cut-Off Mark For Medicine and Surgery

If you choose this course in your jamb registration, am not trying to scare you, but the course is highly competitive. Most times, you may score the cut-off mark but gaining admission becomes very difficult.  For instance, in so many cases somebody may score 280 and will still not be offered admission into medicine.

So, to be on the safer side. Just aim for 300 and above in your UTME if you applied for medicine and surgery during your jamb registration. Alternatively, you can still gain admission into other departments.
